Seenda Foldable Bluetooth Keyboard Review: This Travel-Friendly Gadget Is A Hybrid Working Lifesaver

We may live in a world full of conflicting thoughts, beliefs and religions, but there is one thing we can all agree on: the sheer ecstasy at the start of the weekend.

The concept of a two-day break from the grind comes from an industrial era in Manchester, when workers’ rights activists petitioned factory owners to close early on Saturdays. A mutual agreement was reached and the weekend was born.

Fast forward 177 years later, and the look and location of the workweek has changed again in the wake of the pandemic. A solid Monday through Friday in the office has been replaced by hybrid working, with talk of a four-day workweek.

Like millions of office workers, I enjoy the best-of-both-worlds scenario, starting and ending the week at home and spending the meaty middle part at the office. It’s a routine that works well, and my little Acer Chromebook, which I bought years before 2020, has served me better than I ever expected.

Still, I think anyone who works on a laptop can agree that they are not the best designs. What you gain in compact size, you lose in posture, hunched over a keyboard that is attached to the screen. If you work long hours, you will soon start to suffer the ill effects of shoulder, neck and lower back pain.

And if you’re hoping to catch up on work while you travel, lugging around an expensive, fragile laptop doesn’t always appeal to me. But on Prime Day this year, I stumbled across a deal on a foldable Bluetooth keyboard — and I don’t regret it.

Shipped in Amazon’s signature cardboard envelope with a tear-and-pull opening, the Seenda foldable keyboard arrives without much fuss. The gadget, a foldable phone stand, and a charging cable all arrive in a plain white cardboard box with little in the way of padding. Everything is securely packaged, so there’s little chance of damage in transit.

If you're considering giving one as a gift, be sure to remove the ribbon and wrapping paper to do it justice.

The slim keyboard comes with two unequal blades that flip open and fold flat to reveal a full-size keyboard. The right panel houses a touchpad mouse with right- and left-click buttons underneath. It comes in black, but I opted for the green option because it's nice to have something different from the all-black, foreboding technology.

The back and rear of the keyboard are covered with a linen-like fabric. This makes the keyboard comfortable to hold and prevents fingerprints from being left behind.

I’m writing this review using the keyboard, with my laptop leaned further back to keep an eye on my posture, something that wouldn’t be possible if I were using the laptop’s integrated keyboard. I can almost hear my back and neck screaming their thanks.

Using Seenda’s foldable keyboard is ridiculously simple. As always, the first step is to fully charge it (expect two hours for up to 150 days of standby use), then power it on using the power button next to the USB-C charging port. Then, press and hold the Fn key and 1, 2, or 3 at the same time (look for the Bluetooth icon and orange numbers; on my keyboard, these are the same as the Q, W, and E keys) to pair your devices and you’re ready to type.

The foldable keyboard works with tablets, Macs, laptops, and any phone that supports Bluetooth. On a recent flight, I was able to do some writing (workaholic, me?) using my Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 and this keyboard. It was the next best thing to my laptop, and it was much easier to type on a full-size keyboard than tapping on my phone’s keys.

And as for my fellow passengers – well, they were mesmerized. The foldable tech devices together look like a modern magic trick.

I have few complaints about this foldable keyboard; it’s probably the most usable thing I’ve ever bought from Amazon (not counting my beloved Command Strips – if you don’t know, learn). The touchpad mouse takes a little getting used to, and it would be nice to see it in more colors, but these are minor quibbles.

Are you someone who often has to work on the go or do you want to keep your laptop cleaner and relieve your protesting back? Then the Seenda foldable keyboard is an investment that is definitely worth its money.
